Prom Dress Rugby at UCLA

Ok so I know this video technically doesn't have anything to do with Prom, but it does have something to do with prom dresses. I read the title and I laughed out loud. I now think it would be fun to try and do all sorts of sport in a prom dress...perhaps I will actually will.

The New Smokey Eye

Who said smokey eyes only come in black? I don't think we should limit our creativity when it comes to make up, and these girls seem to agree with me. Here are a few girls that think the smokey eye can go beyond the matted blacks and grays. They are using metallic and colors to really make their smokey eyes POP! These looks will be brilliant for this prom season where colors and natural beauty are the trends.

The pink smokey eye: This look can be easily worn during the day without looking over done, but it can also be amped up for a more dramatic night time look. Pinks, even though they are a color, often come across as very natural. Think slightly sun kissed. So this smokey eye is very diverse, don't be afraid to experiment before so you can get it just right on prom night.

The metallic smokey eye: Who knew silver could make such an amazing base for a smokey eye? Well I guess if your thinking metallic then silver would be the obvious choice. That is exactly what this girl thought when she set out to create this brilliant metallic and blue smokey eye.

The smokey brown eye: A little more subtle than the black smokey eye, the brown smokey eye is used for a more natural look. Again feel free to make this darker or lighter depending on what will fit your prom look.

Ashley Greene from Twilight Gives Prom Tips

Exfoliate! This could very well be the most important part of you pre prom preparation (ok after buying the dress and planning prom out, but you know what I am saying). Make sure you remember to exfoliate the night before. No one like unexpected zips popping up the day of the big event. My tree favorite exfoliating scrubs are as follows (in no particular order):

Ocean Salt Cleanser by LUSH $19

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant $30

Clinique Exfoliating Scrub $18

Make-up, Make-up, and more Make-up

Make-up is truly one of my favorite passions in life, I love buying make-up, learning about make-up, and applying make-up. After many years of practice and research, I believe I am a very talented make-up artist. I’ve done make-up for weddings, school dances, and senior pictures. I love the miracles of make-up. If you look tired, just add a little blush to your checks to brighten your appearances; if you have acne or freckles and want them to disappear, just add foundation. Make-up works wonders. Girls I know it’s about that time to start school again, with that being said, I think it’s time you all get a head start finding that perfect dress, hairstyle, and make-up for all the wonderful dances this year. One of my favorite places to get make-up is CosmeticMall.com , they carry hundreds of different make-up lines, and it’s great. However, I did find this how-to video the other day and she has a prefect gold/rose example that would be great for any school dance, especially homecoming or prom, I love it.

Drive to Prom in Safety...

As prom approaches one thing you should take into deep considerations is your driving situation. As a kid, you always think you’re invincible; nothing bad is every going to happen to you, right? Well as you get older, you will start to realize that is not true. When it comes to driving, teens love to put their foot to the metal and test all limits possible. Offend this leads to speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, and racing. As a teenage, you usually feel like you have to prove yourself in order for your peers to think you’re cool or something; having this mentality offend leads to showing off, this can sometime result in death. Not all accidents involve drugs or alcohol; sometimes you’re just in the wrong place at the wrong time. With prom just around the corner, I think it a great idea for teens to invest in renting out a limo for night, especially if your prom is far away. If you have about five couples riding together, this option can be pretty inexpensive and well worth it. However, you decide to get to prom, always remember to buckle up!

Taft High School student Jennifer Perla, 16, is killed on the way to her prom when the vehicle she is riding in overturns on the 110 Freeway. Seven others are injured.

It was prom night and Jennifer Perla was wearing her beautiful purple dress.

But she would never get a chance to show it off at the dance.

The cheerleader from Taft High School in Woodland Hills died Saturday night in an accident on the 110 Freeway as she and a group of friends were heading to their prom at the California Science Center.

Eyelash Extension for Prom?

Hey girl's, have you ever wish that you had longer/fuller eyelashes? Well now is you chance. Applying false lashes will help you achieve that you dramatic look you've been wanting for prom.
Back when i went to prom, eyelash extensions were not even an options. My girlfriends and i would always buy false lashes for prom, down at the local convenient store, the ones you had to apply yourself. Well the times have changed, now you can eye lash extensions. I always loved the way false lashes would make me feel, it gave me a boost of confidences and drew attention to my face. I think every prom queen out there should try them, you will definitely fall in love with them, i did.

If your thinking about getting eyelash extensions for prom, i found this article online very helpful.

Author: One Funky Mama

Permanent eyelash extensions differ from false eyelashes in several ways. First, eyelash extensions are more natural looking than a strip of false eyelashes. Extensions are made from a synthetic hair, which tapers at the end like natural lashes and is applied one eyelash at a time and they add length to the lashes, much like hair extensions. Eyelash extensions are permanent, but they do need to be reapplied in a touch up, every two weeks, as your real lashes fall out naturally every 10 – 12 days.
There are several benefits to permanent eyelash extensions. They look natural and give you fuller, thicker lashes. You can choose the length and the color of the lashes you want. Mascara is not needed, and neither is expensive eye makeup remover to dissolve the mascara. Since the lashes are permanent, they last through tears, sweat, showering, sleeping, and the sun.

The application process is relatively simple and needs to be done by a qualified beautician. The beautician will clean your eyelids and lashes, ensuring they are free of oil, makeup, and dirt. She will then put a special adhesive on the bottom of an extension and adhere it to the top of your natural lash. The extension will bond to the lash in about 10 seconds. This is done one lash at a time, with tweezers, so it will be time consuming. On average, about 30 to 80 lashes are used per eye, and the procedure can take around 2 hours. Afterwards, you will need to avoid water for about 2 hours, but then the lashes are permanent and can be enjoyed through any activity, even swimming!

How to Make a Boutonniere for Prom

Girls...prom can get pretty expensive with all the basic prom essential, for example, hair/nails appointments, shoes, jewelry, your dress and don't forget about the boutonniere. When its all said and done your prom bill is going to pretty $$$, so if you can find ways to eliminate cost, do it. I found a great video on how to make a boutonniere for prom, so get some of your gals together and we'll get started. One of my favorite things about making your own flower arrangements is the fact you get add your own personally touch to it and the best part is you'll save a little bit of money too. Great creative with it, add some diamonds, pearls, glitter, greenery, or some crazy flowers to match your dress.

Girls Go to Prom Dressed as Barbie Dolls

When it comes to prom we all get a little nervous before the big night. I mean, how can we not get nervous, everybody expects us to look "perfect" on prom. We all want to have the perfect prom dress, make-up and hairstyle. It's your night to shine and of course we all want to be in the spotlight. That where this article comes in hand, the artistic flare two British 16-year-olds brought to their prom. How cool is that? Dressing up as barbie doll for prom. I would never think of doing something like this for my prom, maybe Halloween. I love how these girls took creativity to the next level. This will go down in their high school history and be talked about for for years to come. Come on now, who is going to forget seeing two girls dressed up as barbie dolls at their high school prom, they're not. Great prom idea girls!

Sammy Burns and Megan Barton had the admirable impulse to do something unique for their prom. But I can’t say I’m thrilled with the concept that Sammy’s mother devised. “When Sammy was little she loved Barbie dolls and I thought they could go in boxes as Barbie dolls,” the 44-year-old business manager said.

The whole Burns family got involved in making the boxes, which took two weeks to complete. Sammy and Megan were then wheeled to the prom by family members dressed as delivery boys. The slow, hot walk took nearly 40 minutes.

In true Barbie form, the girls put looks before comfort to brave the claustrophobic boxes: “It was really hot and a little scary at first,” Sammy said. “But we soon got used to it and we kept smiling for everyone while they took pictures of us.”

Creative Ways to ask that special one to Prom… YouTube!!!

If you are the daring and courageous type, post a video on YouTube asking that special someone to go to the prom with you. Name it something crazy, and then start spreading the word around school, telling people to go check out this cool video on YouTube, eventually it will get around to the girl you want to take to prom. If it doesn’t, next time you see her, tell her about this extreme video on YouTube she has to see. This will take some creativity and certainly a bit of bravery. Have fun with it, be creative. It is likely that others from your school will see the video, so make sure you want to do this before you post it. Making a YouTube video is a great way to ask a girl to prom.

Here is a prefect example of being creative, i absolute love this video.... Girls, why wouldn't you go to prom, it's free!!!

Day Dates

One of my favorite things about prom was the day date. What is a day date you ask? It is when the group of friends you are going to prom with gets together for a day time activity. Its general starts early morning with breakfast, a morning hike, or a car ride to get to the chosen destination. Usually ending in the late afternoon, giving the girls enough time (generally a few hours) to get ready for the big night. Participating in a day activity is great, you're able to spend all day having fun with your friends, and of course your hot prom date. Not to mention it gives you even more memories to look back on when you're thinking of prom.

Some day dates ideas:
Hiking, Bowling, Swimming, Surfing, Sledding, Snow Boarding/Skiing, Boating, Fishing, Lazar Tag, Picnic, Rock Band Competition, Miniature Golf, etc...
Pretty much anything will work for a day date.
BE CREATIVE!!!
